MESSAGE FROM ROBIN GERSON WONG
THE PERFORMING ARTS STUDIO THEATRE CAMP
As a child, I rounded up the
kids in the neighborhood and we put on a show in our backyard for all our parents to see. I guess even at an early age, the
director in me was longing to get out. Many years have passed and history has repeated itself. After a successful career
in show business, I started The Performing Arts Studio Theatre Camp nine years ago with the purpose of instilling the love
of performing and appreciation of theatre arts in students.
My staff and I eagerly anticipate this summer season
and always enjoy the process of planning and choosing the shows. We try to pick musicals that contain many characters so
that all our students are featured. Though many of our students aspire to become professional actors, our workshops are also
filled with boys and girls just wanting to partake in the fun of “putting on a show.”
We know we are doing something
right when parents tell us that their kids can’t wait to get to camp each morning. In a nurturing environment, we encourage
our students to explore their talents. Our program is designed to heighten the students’ sense of confidence, imagination
and creativity, instill a strong positive self-image and help develop poise and ease when performing in front of an audience.
When the final curtain closes, we want the children to leave feeling great about themselves as well as their performance
in the show.
